The Indian cricket team reached Auckland on Tuesday on a 6-week long tour of New Zealand. Team India will play the first 5-match T20 series, which is to be played on 24 January.

Team India captain Virat Kohli shared a photo on social media in which Shardul Thakur and Shreyas Iyer are seen standing with him. Virat and Iyer have also created a 'Victory Sign'.

Virat shared the photo and wrote, 'Reached Auckland. Let's go. ' The Indian team started the year with a win and defeated Sri Lanka in the T20 series. Then beat Australia 2–1 in the 3-match ODI series.

Apart from the T20 series, the Indian team will also play three ODIs and two Test matches. These test matches are part of the World Test Championship.

Dhawan and Ishant, out of team

Before the departure, Team India suffered a big setback and its opener Shikhar Dhawan crashed out of the T20 series in New Zealand due to injury. He will not be able to play for the Indian team due to a shoulder injury. He suffered a shoulder injury in the last ODI against Australia on Sunday in Bengaluru. At the same time, Ishant Sharma will not be able to participate in the Test series due to an ankle injury.

India's New Zealand tour will begin with the T20 series which will be played from January 24 to February 2. The ODI will be played from February 5 to 11 and the Test series from February 21 to March 4. On this tour, the Indian team has to play 8 matches with white ball.

The tour will begin with the T20 match from 24 January. The second T20 match of the series will be played at Eden Park on 26 January, while the third T20 will be held in Hamilton on 29 January. The fourth T20 will be played in Wellington on 31 January and the 5th match on 2 February at Mount Maunganui.
