You may remember the name of a Sri Lankan bowler, Mathisha Pathirana, who went viral on the Internet due to his bowling style. He got a chance in the Under-19 World Cup squad and again made it to the news in the last match against the Indian team.

Pathirana did another surprise job when he bowled against the Indian Under-19 team at a speed of 175 kmph on Sunday. Although it was a speedometer fault or a mistake from the broadcaster, no official statement from the ICC has come to this far.

Pathirana bowled this ball against India's batsman Jaiswal. The final ball of the fourth over came off Jaiswal's leg side which was called wide by the umpire. Meanwhile, when the speed of the ball was shown on the TV screen, everyone was shocked. Pathirana, who came into the limelight due to a bowling style similar to senior paceman Lasith Malinga, took 6 wickets for just 7 runs in his debut match for Trinity College Candy in September last year.

U19 WC: India begins with a win

India defeated the Sri Lankan team by 90 runs in their first match of the Under-19 World Cup and made a winning debut in this tournament. The Indian U-19 team scored 297 for 4 wickets after which the Sri Lankan team were all out for 207 runs in 45.2 overs.

The record for throwing the fastest ball so far has been recorded in the name of Pakistan veteran Shoaib Akhtar, who bowled the ball at a speed of 161.3 kmph in the World Cup match against England in 2003.
